A Presidential Recap

Updated: Jan 12

Dear Lost Flamingo Family and Friends,

Hello! My name is Isabella Curet and I have had the pleasure of serving as LFC’s president for the 2024-25 school year! Our Fundraising and Community Outreach Chair, Elle, gave me the opportunity to post an update blog from my perspective. Our Fall 2024 season included successes on all sides. This season, we had four showings of Rocky for the first time, several sold-out play nights, and plenty of successful fundraisers, social events, and tech build days. Many of these successes can be attributed to the hard work of our executive board and directors, who continue to inspire me and others to do more and do better for LFC. Additionally, our members are always finding new ways to contribute and support the company, and I look forward to the club’s future.

From my point of view, this season has been especially productive and fortunate.

This season, I was grateful to be a part of Almost, Maine. My favorite part of the experience was watching a group of almost entirely freshmen and new members become good friends; seeing cast and crew members continue to spend time together after the show has ended is very special to me. I hope for the longevity of these friendships, along with all of the new relationships I’ve seen formed this semester. Theater kids really do go through it all together, and it creates really strong bonds. I am so glad to be a part of a student organization that fosters these kinds of connections.

Our executive board has been spending extra time solidifying all of the company’s rules, roles, and regulations. The detail that I’ve seen our exec put into securing the future of our company has set us up for a great semester, and I look forward to continue to see what they do. While juggling schoolwork, jobs, and other student organizations, they still show up at their best, and I admire their commitment and wholeheartedness.

This season is on track to be very exciting, so be sure to stay tuned in on all things LFC! Our Instagram, Facebook, and blog can all be found on this website, and will update regularly on what we’re getting up to. We rely on community support to produce our shows, and are very grateful for any and all contributions and interaction! Thank you to all of our Flamingo Friends for your patronage, and we hope to see you at a show this season!

As the semester starts and my time in LFC ends, I will continue to look back fondly on all of the important work we’ve done and the fun we’ve had. I hope to see you at a show this semester; if I do, don’t hesitate to come talk to me about anything LFC!

Thank you to all and best wishes,

Isabella Curet

President
